Stopped by Stereoscope for a cortado and had a really enjoyable experience. One thing that immediately stood out was the barista’s knowledge. She was genuinely engaged in talking about coffee, understood the beans she was serving, and was able to answer questions without hesitation. That’s becoming harder to find these days, and it definitely added to the overall experience. The cortado itself was well executed. The temperature was right where it should be, allowing the flavors to come through immediately without having to wait for the drink to cool down. I was able to clearly taste the notes in the coffee, and the balance between the espresso and milk was excellent. The body held together nicely throughout the drink and never felt thin or watered down. My only critique would be that the crema and microfoam leaned a little more matte and foamy than glossy. It wasn’t enough to take away from the drink, but a slightly silkier, shinier texture would have elevated it even further. That said, this was an Ethiopian natural, which can be a bit trickier to dial in and pair with milk while still preserving the character of the coffee, so it’s a fairly minor criticism. Overall, a very good cortado from a shop that clearly cares about coffee. Good execution, proper temperature, clear flavor separation, and knowledgeable staff always make for a better coffee experience.

I understand the coffee hype for this place but the MATCHA HYPE??? The cermonial matcha was genuinely as grainy as sand and tasted like literal grass swamp water. Your matcha literally can’t lie when I get it unsweetened. It was $7.50 too!!! The tables gave me back problems and the outside area definitely has some … characters The coffee is redeemable and has a toffee-like note, so I think this would be fine to get, but don’t listen to the performative folks who like green sugar milk for any matcha recommendations.

Nice sunny spot for a little pick me up before the Dodgers game. The signature latte cream top was to die for. Friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere.

Small coffee shop, cozy vibes. Cappuccino with Ethiopia Kayon Mountain (Orange Blossom, Yellow Peach, Juicy, Candied Ginger) - 4.5 stars Our favourite! Fruity and funky. After sipping the miso pumpkin latte and getting back to this, we got unctuous fermented jackfruit/durian flavours. Cappuccino with Guatemala Finca Pampojila (Passionfruit, Starfruit, Crisp, Cacao Nib) - 3.5 stars Pretty strong chocolate notes with an industrial aftertaste. Miso pumpkin latte - 3 stars Too overpowering, the spices and flavours could be taken down a few notches.

Their to-go cups are a lawsuit waiting to happen. Poorly made and leaks everywhere. On my commute it was leaking all over the place and spilled on my work clothes. The lid was properly placed and yet everything was still dripping. It also took way too long for a simple americano
