Firstly, might be the nicest baristas and staff of any coffee shop I’ve been to in a while. Spent time with me to explain things, super chill and like nice, very refreshing. Secondly, the coffee and their homemade syrups they use to make the cold foam, 20/10. Thirdly, the breakfast sandwich was out of this world. They’re doing it right at Immortal!

Coffee is very good! Also, here’s a plus I don’t often hear people talk about—the chairs here are actually relatively comfortable. I say relatively because I love so many cafes in Sacramento, but seating is often a hard wooden board, haha. Thank you for sparing my tailbone, Immortal Cafe…

There are some coffee shops that just transcend and live in a place beyond definition or any easy description and Immortal is that place that floats in its own dimension. To me it is the opposite of the corporate coffee and it rebels against that minimalist snobbery, and yet somehow by eschewing all obvious attempts at pleasing it’s authenticity radiates a much deeper generosity that is so grounded and real that it can’t be bothered to fawn it just gives us something honest and complex and sexy. Also the pour overs there is like a song in my mouth. The first pour over I had was so intense with strawberry that I was in strawberry fields forever. There is non conformity to their choices that meshes so well with the death metal and teddy bears aesthetic. The ambiance is passionately random in the most antifragile way possible, it feels like walking into someone’s very personal dream of their fantasy coffee shop that came true. The food is all I could ever want, there is a chewy miso cookie that is inspired, we got their cookie box for thanksgiving, wow!!! See picture. Tbh all the food is inspired, fresh and craveable, to me Immortal is a reason to live in Sacramento.

One of Sacramento’s best kept secrets. This little coffee shop has delicious beverages, they serve rotating seasonal menu of fresh food (almost everything is vegetarian/vegan), and the atmosphere and ambiance are quaint and cozy. They play different kinds of music, from rap/hip-hop, trip-hop, to rock and metal. The people that run this place are truly passionate about their business, and deserve all the praise.
