What an amazing coffee shop. The coffee was some of the best I’ve had in the KC area. They roast onsite. Atmosphere is great and just off the Plaza. The staff were friendly and attentive. Plenty of space to sprawl out and get some work done or sit and talk in a very comfy sofa or chairs.

Chingu has been on my list for a while. I dropped by on a weekend … seating is limited. This location is located in a residential area, there is only street parking available- we had to park a few blocks away. My husband got a misugaru latte and I had a sweet red bean latte- they tasted the exact same. Staff was not that friendly. Overall it was an okay visit.

Coffee is something I’m so particular I make it myself, but being on vacation, that’s not a luxury I have so for the singular time I tried Chingu, it seems that they are a viable go to. I got a seasonal flavored latte and man, it’s my definition of perfect; great coffee to flavoring ratio, and neither notes overpowered one another. My partner also got a seasonal choice of chamomile matcha with apricot cold foam and I’m versed enough with matcha to know that that was perfect as well, the tea was present, which complimented the earthy and fruity notes. Hence how I drew my conclusion that they are fantastic, as the restaurant literally alongside them which I’ll also be reviewing. Didn’t get food so I cannot speak much upon their options, though I will note I saw a couple that had been seated for a long time before me and my partner, got their food after ordering our drinks so one would assume they make their own food options in house.

We were excited to try the coffee here but both our latte and cappuccino fell a little flat for us. The space itself was cozy and the service was great. Perhaps we should have tried the food here instead as it looked amazing. Ah, well... 🥲

I did not try their food. I had an oat milk latte with mocha flavoring. The coffee flavor is rich and delicious. The mocha flavor was tasty, but absolutely not at all overwhelming, so the coffee is able to shine. Not overly sweet. Highly recommend!
