Victor Mann 2 months agoWe found our favorite coffee shop! Thanks, Yelp, for another awesome Elite Week event at "Coffee Builders." It's in a 1960s building with cool art outside and a super cozy, study-like vibe inside. They also have unique food, like Smørrebrød, which are Danish open-faced sandwiches. Everyone was so friendly! Our barista, Pepper, was really nice and patient while we checked out their amazing coffee choices. My wife loves coffee, so she got a "Chocolate Pistachio Latte," and I picked something from their Galactic menu, the "Krayt Dragonfruit." It had muddled dragonfruit, lemonade, peach, anise rose tea, and bee pollen. So good, and both drinks looked incredible! We also tried the prime rib sliders; the meat was tender and juicy and totally hit the spot. Shanda loved it, so we'll definitely be back. Thanks again, Francheska, for inviting us, and please support them and all our local businesses!
J 3 weeks agoI cannot believe how different this is than the reviews and the pictures, Overhyped! First off, three people standing at the register and no one could give me any recommendations or tell me much about the drinks or the food! I asked about the ingredients in the gluten-free waffles because I have allergies and the response from guy was “I don’t know, I don’t have it memorized” 🤯🙊 After ordering, they said that they do everything half sweet, which is a grossly under representation of what it was. There was absolutely no sweet noted. I don’t know where they’re getting half sweet from. Both of our drinks were bitter, we did NOT taste coffee nor ANY flavors-funny how people are gushing over this coffee. when we went in, there was only one person ahead of us. I don’t know how people are saying this place is (space theme this time ) themed. There was one skeleton mask on the wall and that was it, other than the outside entrance. The drinks are pretty- so if you wanna come here and overspend on flavored milk because it looks cool…Go right ahead. The inside became crowded as we were leaving, but there’s really not much seating inside, and it is squeezed in as in you are touching other tables. The outside seating has sturdy chairs but are very small, so if you are a size large or above, this is not the place to come sit. Also, the drip system is dripping on some of chairs that don’t look like they were made for outside, caution on sitting, wet bum.
Josh H 3 months agoHighly recommend this coffee shop if you're in the area or visiting! This was our first sit down stop of our trip and our entire group loved it. They have themed drinks, which was fun and unique. We has the Princess Bride theme. On top of the great drinks, they had some amazing food for any craving. Great pastries, ube waffles or breakfast bowls!
Autumn R a month agoPerhaps the best coffee in town. Teena made my drink and recommended topping it with vanilla bourbon cold foam. The coffee tasted rich, without being bitter. It was sublime, and as beautiful as it was delicious! I also ordered their avocado toast on sourdough. So fresh tasting and generous on the avocado! Fantastic coffee, and loved the retro atmosphere!! I’ll definitely be back!!!
Erik Gibson 8 months agoI have been to The Coffee Builders twice now, and I have had an outstanding experience each time. It is one of my top five coffee shops in Arizona, and for good reason. I have had their regular cold brew and their regular hot coffee straight up black. What I like about them is their bold taste and how easy their coffee is on my insides. I can tell that they have brewed their coffee beans to perfection without any preservatives. While their coffee is incredible, the best part is the service. Every staff member is so friendly and fun to talk to. Whenever they are not busy, I enjoy having pleasant conversations with them. You can tell that they care about making everyone feel welcome and having a great experience in their shop. I did not meet the owner, Thomas, the first time I visited, but today he was there, and I would like to give him a shoutout for making The Coffee Builders possible. He appreciated the support and, like the other staff members, made me feel right at home. I like the atmosphere as well. The pleasant atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and enjoy your coffee. A perfect little coffee shop in Phoenix to grab a fantastic cup of coffee to start your day. I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding coffee shop in the Phoenix area, and I will be a loyal customer.
