Con Azur Cafe and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Their cafe de olla version was terrible. Café de Olla is a classic Mexican coffee that offers a well-balanced blend of coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar, often served with heavy cream to give you a comforting and energizing boost. Traditionally, it’s even served at funerals as families celebrate the passing of a loved one into a better life. It’s meant to be warm, rich, and meaningful. However, the café’s version was far from that. The counter staff overpromised their Café de Olla, but it tasted terrible. When I asked to switch to a mocha because of how bad the coffee was, their friendly smile quickly disappeared. They didn’t offer a replacement or try to make it right. Instead, I had to pay again for the mocha just to finish the coffee break with my wife. Very disappointing experience. It was an easy decision not to come back. If you’re going to sell poor-quality coffee, at least stand behind it and fix the problem instead of charging customers twice. Promotes well in facebook- HELL NO not again.

I visited Con Azúcar Café recently and left feeling relaxed, full, and genuinely happy I stopped in — I even took a bunch of photos because everything felt worth remembering. From start to finish it was a delightful experience. I ordered the hazelnut truffle latte and a few food items, and both were lovely. It struck a nice balance — not overly sweet, but clearly indulgent, with a rich, velvety mouthfeel and a subtle truffle-chocolate note that made it feel special. It was the kind of coffee you want to sip slowly while you watch people and soak in the atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, the decor is absolutely stunning and unusual in the best way. The whole space has personality: there are artistic touches and unexpected design elements that make you want to look around and take it all in. It doesn’t feel like a cookie-cutter café — every corner seems to have its own little detail, whether it’s a bold color choice, an unusual light fixture, or eclectic artwork. It’s cozy but vibrant, and the setting transforms a simple coffee stop into a little mini-escape from the usual. Service was warm and friendly. Staff were attentive without hovering; they answered questions about the menu and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The pace of service felt unhurried, which matched the calm vibe of the place and made it easy to relax and linger. A practical note: parking was no hassle because there’s a parking structure nearby. I didn’t have to circle blocks or stress about street meters, which made the visit much more peaceful from the start. If you’re driving, I’d recommend using that structure — it took away one of the common annoyances of city dining and let us focus on enjoying the visit. Overall, Con Azúcar Café is a wonderful spot for anyone who likes creative food and drinks, beautiful interiors, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re meeting a friend, working on your laptop for a while, or treating yourself to a nice latte and something tasty, this place delivers. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu and to take more photos of that gorgeous decor. Highly recommend checking it out — especially if you appreciate a cafe with character and a menu that’s a little bit adventurous.

My wife heard about this place and wanted to come try it. So, we took our daughter there and it was nothing short of amazing. The interior was decorated from floor to ceiling, the outside had beautiful artwork and the details were definitely thought of. This place exudes Hispanic, Latino, Latina heritage. Not sure if because Dia De Los Muertos was the next day or not (reason for the immense decorations, but it was an awesome atmosphere and vibe. Food was outstanding, drinks were on point and reminiscent of what my wife says she grew up on.

The drinks were alright. Probably the highlight of the menu. Inquired about their matcha—they use culinary over a higher quality ceremonial grade. The bread was soft but caked— not airy and fluffy. Their food (tortas and sandwiches) was overpriced. They don’t validate DOCO parking as of their inauguration. If you want to spend an hour + in line for an experience — to take pictures in the space that’s been hyped by influencers on socials, this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are higher quality drinks and a better dining experience at another Latinx coffee shop a few blocks down the road. Customer service was also mid. Update: We’re all about doing our due diligence— stopped by again paid $8.66 for a 16 oz horchata matcha latte with a 15% tip. It was good. Not too sweet. Weekday mornings are quieter and a visit is more manageable. No changes to my three star review.
