First time here and I loved it. The shop is literally a house, so it feels really homey, like going to a friend’s place for coffee. You order on the left side and can go inside after. Seating is limited but that’s part of the charm. The coffee was amazing and the banana bread muffin was so good, you could actually taste chunks of banana. The staff were friendly, positive, and genuinely welcoming. I was also impressed that they were open during the snow storm, it honestly felt like a movie moment and a little dream of mine came true because of it. Oh and parking is in the back. I’d definitely recommend this place to coffee lovers. I went with a friend who’s from Nicaragua and grew up around great coffee, and she loved it too. I’ll definitely be back for a cappuccino.

Hands down the best coffee shop in all of CLT. Not only is the coffee incredible, but the food and the service are top notch too. TK is genuinely one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Please don't miss out on Backyard Brew!

I swung in a bit late before a meeting and the team at Backyard Brew couldn’t have been kinder. Ordered the pumpkin-spice chai (which was delicious) and they even gave me a cute little pink ducky to go with it - absolutely adorable. The space has three separate rooms of seating so it’s great for work-mode, though it was a bit loud (still café-vibes). The Dubai chocolate croissant (with pistachio paste!) was flaky and tasty (yes, a little messy to eat, but oh so worth it). And then the “Appley Ever After” matcha-apple milk drink? Really, really good. Friendly staff + fun drinks + great pastry = highly recommend this spot.

We got the pour over and the desert rose latte. My hubby said thee pour over was okay but my desert rose latte was very good. Not too much rose and the spice level was just right. They asked me if I wanted sweet or lightly sweetened. I said light sweetened which made it perfect. We also asked if they have ceramic mugs: which they had! There is parking in a lot behind the house. There are a few rooms with seating and a bathroom. There is also seating on the porch and under the large tree.

Lovely spot. Chill atmosphere. Has a front porch, yard chairs, and little rooms throughout. Had raw mocha, completely free from sugar mocha with espresso base. Never seen it before. One of my favorite drinks I’ve had at a coffee shop. The workers were kind and accommodating, always asking how to improve. Will 100% come back over and over
